Form Intention Studios is a branch off the Wuji Xiao Yao Kung Fu System. This style comes to North America from China though Grandmaster Shouyu Liang, whom was taught the system from his grandfather in the 1940s.
From him, Sifu Ayron Howey has studied the system, applying his life long love of martial arts and experience fighting professional Sanshou and MMA to his time with his students. Further pushing students to develope themselves as martial artists and individuals. Through his school, Wuji Systems, he has influenced a team of teachers to further the spread and love of the art of Kung Fu, one of whom went out on his own to open Form Intention Studios....
Sifu Mathew Nordli opened Form Intention Studios to further develope his art through his love of teaching.
In his early 20s, he started looking for a martial arts club that felt complete to him, all schools are to some extent. But he trusted his gut to bring him to Wuji Systems in 2009. In 2016, Matt got curious about competing and entered in Sanshou and MMA events at competitions like the Tiger Balm Internationals, and the Can Am Martial Arts Competitions through to 2022, often being awarded silver and gold medals.
As of 2024, Sifu Mathew Nordli holds a Black Belt in the Wuji Xiao Yao System, as well as a Level 2 Black Belt Certificate from the International Wushu Sanshou Dao Association.
Sifu Mathew continues to develope and grow, aspiring towards his Level 3 Black Belt, he continues to train and learn from his teacher, Sifu Ayron Howey.
In 2022, Sifu Mathew started the Form Intention Boxing Club on Texada Island, in the small community of Vananda. Dedicated Student(s) have kept the school moving forward in its development.
Now, nearing the end of 2024, the next phase begins as the Form Intention Studios widens its spectrum of Kung Fu to include the arts of Longevity, Health, Enlightenment and Expression, and for it to share the light with the Boxing aspects of the school's Identity.
